A Land O'Lakes Member Owner Cooperative is adding an Agronomist to their team in Osborne, Kansas The cooperative's Agronomist is responsible for daily agronomy operations including customer service, crop production marketing and education, business development and consulting, sales of products and services and sharing detailed industry knowledge with the cooperative's customers.

Responsibilities

• Promote sales and use of the cooperatives' agronomic products and services to local growers
• Provide agronomic recommendations for growers
• Facilitate soil and tissue testing for the cooperative's growers
• Manage daily agronomic operations including crop production and education, business development and consulting and sales of products and services.
• Provide excellent customer service to the cooperative's customers
• Work as a team with other cooperative employees to foster a safe and clean working environment

What You'll Need to Do This Job:

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or a related field; five years of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A valid commercial driver's license (Class A with a hazmat endorsement) or the ability to obtain and maintain this license with a safe driving record
• Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification or the ability to obtain and maintain this certification within two years is preferred
• Remarkable teamwork, customer service, communication, organizational, and time management skills
• The ability to manage difficult or emotional situations; respond promptly to customer needs; resolve questions, complaints and concerns immediately; and meet commitments
• Proficient computer operation skills and the ability to learn various software programs
• Analytical, problem solving, and conflict management skills
• The ability to maintain and promote safety awareness; and follow safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements

Work Environment

Employees work inside and outside in an environment where there is exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and a moderate noise level. Employees must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 150 pounds occasionally and be able to stoop, bend, reach and kneel occasionally.
