- Kitchen Organization: They maintain a clean and organized workspace ensuring that all ingredients are properly stored and labeled. This includes adhering to food safety standards to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assisting Chefs: Prep cooks support chefs and line cooks by preparing ingredients and sometimes cooking simple dishes under supervision. They help ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly during service.
- Inventory Management: They monitor stock levels of food supplies report shortages assist in inventory counts to keep the kitchen well-stocked.
