    Our firm is seeking a Tax Manager in our Grand Rapids, MI office, specializing in estate, gift, trust and high net worth individual taxation. The manager in this role will interact with clients on a regular basis while reporting to firm principals within our Domestic Tax Group. The manager will work with legal and tax professionals and taxing authorities on matters relating to federal and state estate and fiduciary income taxes, postmortem tax issues and estate administration.

    This role is responsible for leading multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax preparation, research, planning and consulting services for a variety of our clients. Candidates must possess:

    • Education, Credentials and Experience: As an experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent, you'll put your experience to good use at Doeren Mayhew. With at least 5 years of Manager-level experience providing technical estate, gift, trust and individual tax planning and solutions, you're accustomed to handling a wide variety of complex tax compliance issues with confidence.
    • Client-first focus: You'll use innovative, yet practical solutions customized for each client's unique business needs to develop new and nurture existing client relationships, perhaps even in a specialized industry or niche.
    • Leadership: As an inspiring coach and mentor, you'll provide detail work paper review, training and direction to motivate and develop the capabilities of other accountants.
    • Presentation skills: Uses a dynamic approach to creates and deliver relevant presentations related to estates, gifts and trusts both internally and externally.
    • Entrepreneurial Spirit: With your desire to become partner one day, you'll possess the drive, aptitude, sales skills, and above-and-beyond attitude to exceed goals and grow your career at Doeren Mayhew.
    • Communication skills: You'll use your strong written and verbal communication skills and acute business acumen to prepare and present technically complex material to clients.
