- Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die.
- Set up punching dies and extrusion dies.
- Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to extrusion line.
- Monitor and inspect quality of finished goods, which includes the ability to detect and diagnose surface defects of product, die lines, blemishes, color variations, etc.
- Change dies on extruding machines according to production line change.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and finishing operations at the press.
- Night shift: 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. 12 hours shifts with a rotation schedule and alternating weekends.
- Overtime and weekends as needed.
- High School/GED, technical certificate preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in a plastics extrusion environment.
- Overall knowledge of tools, instruments, standard test equipment and plant processes.
- Excellent communication with strong leadership skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move shipments to hand truck.
- Ability to partner with employees and work as a team.
- Valid training certificate to operate fork truck preferred, training is provided.
- Ability to sample new tools and communicate with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality personnel to assure objectives are achieved.
- Ability to document all processes related to the molding of a part that is repeatable and understandable.
