JOB PURPOSE:
Facilitating patient care byassisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR)for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patientcare duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgicalspecialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on amore global level and is more involved in detailed surgicalendeavors related to the surgerydepartment.
Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
High SchoolDiploma or GED.
Graduate of a SurgicalTechnology Program or LPNprogram.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Surgical Tech Certification and 3years of experience required.
In lieu of Surgical Techcertification, 7 years of experience can be substituted forcertification for a total requirement of 10 years Surgical Techexperience.
MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Current GA LPN License ifapplicable.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification as a SurgicalTechnologist Required or Licensed as an LPN required. BLScertification required.
