    Construction Engineer/Inspector Job Description

    This position offers the opportunity to engage on a major multi-year Construction Management Program team. The program includes multiple construction contracts and delivery methods, including Job Order Contracting, Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management at Risk, and Progressive Design Build over 8-10 years.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide full-time construction inspection and oversight for multiple large-scale projects at the Water Resource Recovery Facility.
    • Facilitate an effective partnership with project stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with local and national teams of technical experts.
    • Review design and bidding documents for completeness, constructability, and biddability.
    • Identify, manage, mitigate, and solve project problems.
    • Coordinate issue resolution with clients, owners, consultants, contractors, designers, regulatory agencies, and the public.
    • Support health and safety training compliance.
    • Utilize the Construction Management Information System (CMIS).
    • Prepare reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
    • Oversight of onsite and offsite construction to ensure compliance with regulations and proper techniques.
    • Coordinate quality construction efforts with field inspectors and office support staff.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction administration and inspection of municipal infrastructure water and wastewater facilities or related industry.
    • Knowledge of construction practices, details, rules, regulations, local and national building codes, and quality standards for concrete, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to walk around construction sites and perform inspections.
    • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and wear required safety equipment.
    • Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access structures for visual inspection and lift objects less than 30 pounds.
