- Project leadership
- Managing technical staff to ensure the staff is trained, motivated and work is assigned appropriately to meet project/task schedules
- Managing software development life cycle
- Creating and maintaining responsive, secure and reliable production systems
- Interacting effectively with business stakeholders, fully understanding business needs, prioritizing projects and tasks with stakeholder approval, and keeping stakeholders fully informed of project/task status.
- Managing Software Development costs
- Interacting with Corporate IT to establish and maintain technology and processes standards
- Reliable, predictable and dependable attendance is a requirement
- Other duties as assigned
- Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or business degree with technical and/or project management experience.
- Good knowledge of programming concepts and methodology
- 5 to 7 years of programming experience preferred
- 5 to 7 years of project management experience preferred
- 5 to 7 years of technical staff management preferred
- MBA preferred

Job Summary :
The Director, Software Engineering is responsible for software development tools and methodologies; leading software development projects; leading a staff of software developers, data base administrators and business analysts; understanding business needs and technology/system requirements; working closely with business stakeholders; establishing and managing budgets for Software Development; and working closely with Corporate IT to identify and maintain standards with technology and processes. This high level IT leadership position provides vision and direction to the Software Development effort.
