    Description

    Job Summary :

    The Director, Software Engineering is responsible for software development tools and methodologies; leading software development projects; leading a staff of software developers, data base administrators and business analysts; understanding business needs and technology/system requirements; working closely with business stakeholders; establishing and managing budgets for Software Development; and working closely with Corporate IT to identify and maintain standards with technology and processes. This high level IT leadership position provides vision and direction to the Software Development effort.

    Essential Job Functions :

  • Project leadership
  • Managing technical staff to ensure the staff is trained, motivated and work is assigned appropriately to meet project/task schedules
  • Managing software development life cycle
  • Creating and maintaining responsive, secure and reliable production systems
  • Interacting effectively with business stakeholders, fully understanding business needs, prioritizing projects and tasks with stakeholder approval, and keeping stakeholders fully informed of project/task status.
  • Managing Software Development costs
  • Interacting with Corporate IT to establish and maintain technology and processes standards
  • Reliable, predictable and dependable attendance is a requirement
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Education/Experience/Skills

    Basic Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or business degree with technical and/or project management experience.
  • Good knowledge of programming concepts and methodology
  • 5 to 7 years of programming experience preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of project management experience preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of technical staff management preferred
  • Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA preferred
  • Strict adherence to best-practices/standards
  • Self-motivated, team player
