    Materials and Structural Analysis, a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, designs, manufactures, and supports high-performance microscopy instrumentation for the life sciences, materials sciences, and semiconductor industries.

    As a member of the Life Science Business Unit's Cryo-EM workflows team, you'll help define our strategy for enabling innovative data management solutions.


    The Position:


    Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic Product Manager with a passion for data science that wants to join our upbeat team? This role will be pivotal in driving data and software strategies across our range of rapidly developing Microscope products.

    The data science software product manager will be primarily responsible for our data managment and data science product solutions.
    The role will require strong collaboration skills and understanding of how to succeed in a matrixed environment. You will help drive our product strategy and release process, define the marketing strategies, and develop the product positioning.
    A day in Life

    Assess needs

    of

    customers

    and

    markets


    with regards to data managment, develop business plans to build solutions that leverage data science to gain market share and improve outcomes in the Cryo-EM workflow.

    Align and Own Product roadmaps -


    Structure and communicate these product requirements into clear multi-year roadmaps that will act as guidance to development teams and marketing departments.

    Participate

    in Scaled Agile ( SAFe ) Agile Release Trains ( ART ) for Life Science Products and build strong connection with product owners to ensure requirements are clear to

    R&D

    organization and product(s) will meet our customer needs.

    Coach


    and help Product Owners find the right solutions to problems by evaluating ideas in terms of value, customer perspective, and risks.

    Provide guidance and motivation to ensure there is product and technical consistency across the portfolio that spans the needs of the business.

    Create the

    value proposition for innovative software solutions,

    new product ideas, and new business models. Validate those with the market.

    Collaborate

    with the


    Software Product Marketing Manage rs to develop the overall marketing strategy for data managment software, including product positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies.

    Build and

    Maintain relationships

    with key customers

    to help sales in a region or globally. Support new product sales with direct customer interaction, commercial and technical presentations, and collateral.


    Requirements:
    University degree in technical field such as Physics, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, Master's preferred.

    Experience:
    Typically requires consistent track record; Prior experience in software development is helpful.

    Knowledge Level:
    Advanced technical knowledge & conceptual thinking or leadership skills


    Proficiencies:
    Proven experience in developing software products, roadmap ownership, and execution of sophisticated projects.

    Experience in working in a Lean Agile Development environment is preferred.

    Experience in interacting with highly technical customers and customer groups.

    The ability to envision new opportunities and to drive their implementation to achieve continuous business improvement

    Excellent communication ability (both written and verbal) and influencing skills including presenting complex concepts to a variety of audiences is critical to the success in this position

    Successful candidate has a strong drive for results and an ability to work within a diverse, cross-functional, and multi-cultural team across multiple sites

    Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
