    Job Description


    Applicants must be able to perform general clerical work and be proficient in the preparation of various correspondence, reports, documents, etc. Applicants must be able to work in an industrial environment, in all kinds of weather conditions. Position requires bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting. Must maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace. Position requires strong communication skills and an ability to direct and advise others in a team environment.

    Job Requirements

    •Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities


    •Valid driver's license


    •Understand, follow, and enforce safety rules and processes


    •Qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)


    •Operate lift and swing bridge controls and communicate via radio to maritime traffic


    •Capable of lifting 50+ lbs


    •Input information into computers, e-mail correspondence, research material needs and usage


    •Maintain bookkeeping and prepare reports


    •Requires outdoor work in all weather conditions


    •Be on call and available to protect work


    •Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays, and job/shift preference as determined by union agreement and seniority.

    Pay and Benefits


    The 100% step rate daily wage for these positions is $289.74/day.

    Wage, benefits, and other duties are governed by the collective bargaining union agreement. Union Membership is required with mandatory associated membership dues. New hires will typically join the union within 60 calendar days of the first day of service.

    Eligibility for health benefits begin on the first day of the calendar month that follows employment. Spouse and dependents may be eligible for coverage.

    Opportunity to qualify for holiday pay on up to 11 holidays specified by the agreement in any year. After 1 year, opportunity to qualify for paid sick leave and paid vacation (based on years of qualified service). Additionally, opportunity to qualify for vacation after 1 year of service.
