Job DescriptionOur automotive supplier client is seeking candidates for a
Senior Quality Engineer .
This position will lead quality projects engaging plant operations, and suppliers leveraging problem-solving techniques to improve and sustain plant quality performance metrics.
As a key driver of quality improvements within our site, this role will directly impact customers and supply base as an integral part of our business in the drive for zero defects quality performance.
The schedule for this role is M-F, 7a - 4p. Very little travel is required for this role .Responsibilities
Lead/support process assessments and other performance improvement activities within our site
Lead weekly reviews on quality performance metrics identifying and driving improvements with the use of data analytics and problem-solving tools.
Lead monthly quality performance and project status reviews of quality projectsSupport/lead deployment of IATF QMS requirements within our site participating in our Internal Audit process
Lead/support validation of the implementation of corrective / improvement actions across our value stream when needed, to assess the effectiveness of improvements.
Support deployment of risk mitigation activities across our value stream, to proactively identify and address potential quality risksMonitor operational metrics, and customer/supplier performance promptly to proactively address potential issues.
Required Qualifications
5-10 years of combined experience in a Quality role in operations
Expert in PPAP - Production Part Approval Process
Expert in Root Cause Analysis
Experience in Automotive Supplier manufacturing
Demonstrated hands-on experience working on the floor
Preferred Qualifications
BS in Engineering or other related field
Fabrication, machining, and assembly knowledge and experience are strongly preferred
Certified lead internal auditor (ISO9001 / IATF16949)
Green belt/black belt certification
Experience with Process FMEA
Experience in the use of SAP ERP system
Knowledge of engineering drawings & tolerancing, standards & specifications
