- Reads and interprets customer drawings and specifications and identify appropriate inspection methods.
- Interprets geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifications.
- Performs 1st piece, last piece, and in-process inspection checks.
- Evaluates nonconforming material to determine final disposition.
- Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering and other business units.
- May direct the work of less senior personnel.
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.
- Uses laser tracker to align components to machine coordinates.
- Determines best fit for weldments to optimize machine stock.
- Supports when needed on off-shifts and/or via overtime.
- Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing, to convey information;
- Computer literacy required to be able to prepare appropriate reports and documents. Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.);
- Working experience with Ansi Y14.5 GD&T;
- Experience reading and working with blueprints;
- Work history with portable Metrology Inspection and Alignment;
- Understanding of and the ability to use shop math;
- Ability to support overtime and/or the off-shift team when needed.
- Typically requires a High School diploma (or GED or equivalent) and 8 years related work experience, or an Associates Degree and 6 years related work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related work experience, or the overall equivalent;
