    Job purpose

    PHINIA is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI. This person will primarily be responsible for working with engineering teams to develop remanufacturing programs for commercial vehicle Fuel Systems and providing support to the responsible product lines.

    Key responsibilities
    • Process Optimization: Lead efforts to optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
    • New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to ensure seamless transition of new products into manufacturing.
    • Equipment and Tooling: Evaluate, select, and implement new equipment, tools, and technologies to improve manufacturing capabilities.
    • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
    • Cost Reduction: Drive cost reduction initiatives through process improvements, supplier negotiations, and other strategic measures.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, procurement, and quality to achieve company goals.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications.
    • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
    What we're looking for
    • 2+ years of experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field with a high focus on logic.
    • Experience in development of Process Documentation (PFD, PFMEA, PCP, JES, etc.)
    • Experience with DOE, Shainin RedX, 8D methodologies, GD&T and problem-solving tools to determine root cause and corrective action implementation for internal/external issues.
    • Familiar with Industry 4.0. Working knowledge of mechanical devices, such as indexers, pick & place mechanisms, robots, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machining processes, Working knowledge of sensors, PLCs, stepper and servo motors, vision systems, and Final Testers as EOL for electronics, Flow and Leak testers.
    • Strong proficiency in M365 workspace (Power Automate, Microsoft Teams, Excel, etc.).
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
    • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
    • Proficiency with LabVIEW and NI software/hardware.
    • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles, with proficiency in C# programming language.
    • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
    • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
