    **Location: Thomasville, GA**

    **Basic Function**:

    Responsible for procuring material to support the Master Production Schedule. Work with Purchase Material Planning Reports to maintain open order integrity with vendors with respect to date, quantity, quality, and price. Works with key vendors in purchase of capacity beyond planning horizon. Responsible for getting blanket order discounts and seeking new alternative sources to help maintain costs at a fixed level.

    **Essential Duties****:**

    Responsible for procuring all material required to complete fabrication and assembly to support established due dates driven by the Master Production Schedule.

    Negotiate with vendors to obtain lowest possible price, with a minimum of lead time, a high level of quality, and consistent on-time delivery.

    Develop and implement a Vendor Rating System on price, quantity, quality, and delivery performance.

    Develop and teach the Vendor Education Program on MRP II to all key vendors.

    Coordinate with key vendors to buy capacity beyond the lead time fence and to supply them weekly Planning Schedules for their products which coincide with the Master Production Schedule planning periods and horizon.

    Monitor and report on the availability of purchased parts past due or delayed to Production Control, Master Scheduling, and Purchasing.

    Coordinate with the vendor to request company transport or other type of shipment to ensure that required parts are available to meet Production Schedule.

    Responsible for working with Production Control, Manufacturing, and Purchasing for any purchased parts coordination requiring follow-up and feedback.

    Work closely with Material Planning and Production Planning to understand the total requirements for purchased parts as well as the individual periodic quantities. Use the MRP II Planning Reports for purchased parts as well as the individual periodic quantities. Use the MRP II Planning Reports for purchased parts when negotiating and placing orders.

    Audit the Open Purchase Orders to ensure integrity of an order material. Work with Receiving, accounts Payable, and other departments as required to reconcile errors and correct causes.

    **Education Required****:** Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field preferred.

    **Experience Required**: +5 years relevant experience; developed knowledge of Procurement principals, detail orientation, strong analytical skills, statistical knowledge, and organizational skills; strong PC skills: MS Excel, ERP system desired; ability to handle multiple competing priorities, strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with business partners.

    **Internal Contacts****:** Regular (16-35%) Make contacts that involve controversy where practices and procedures and/or methods do not provide precise direction as to desired outcomes.

    **Physical Skill and Effort****:** Limited manual dexterity required. Work requires infrequent physical effort.
