    Here at Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, we provide services for those struggling with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual developmental disabilities.



    About the Position: This role involves conducting alcohol and drug assessments, creating treatment plans, coordinating substance abuse counseling activities, and collaborating with various entities to ensure effective utilization of available resources for chemical dependency treatment.



    Responsibilities:
    • Conduct screening interviews to assess the need for drug and alcohol evaluations and emergent care services
    • Perform confidential assessments using ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care
    • Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work with clients and treatment team members
    • Provide clinical consultation to support clients and their families
    • Collaborate with clients in decision-making processes regarding their care
    • Make referrals to suitable programs and agencies based on assessments
    • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures
    • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
    • Stay informed about available treatment resources
    • Participate in meetings, staff development, and training sessions
    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Hold a Certification or State License as a Chemical Dependency Professional, Alcohol and Drug Counselor, or Substance Abuse Counselor in Georgia
    • Possess at least 1 year of relevant experience
    • May undergo a criminal background check and drug screening
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Behavioral Health field (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, MFT, LMSW, LAPC)
    • Bilingual skills are advantageous
