- Produce lighting control system layouts, one-lines and cutsheet packages.
- Manage the engineering shop drawings process.
- Generate pricing for lighting control systems.
- Attending meetings and conference calls with clients and manufacturers.
- Coordinate lighting control interface functionality and expectations with owners and clients.
- Respond quickly to all emails and calls.
- Manage and meet deadlines for incoming requests.
- Attend educational classes, meetings, and events, often outside of work hours and/or out of state.

Job DescriptionThe Controls Engineer position is responsible for coordinating with clients to develop lighting control systems designs and specifications. The position entails producing lighting controls engineering drawings, compiling budgets and presentation materials for proposals, generating quotations, engineering shop drawings and submittal documents for construction. The controls team is expected to assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and working to grow Visual Interest's presence in the construction industry.
