- Prepares meals in a state school cafeteria using specialized equipment
- Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and after-school snacks for students and staff
- Works with managers to ensure the meal management is accurate
- Implements sanitation and safety procedures in receiving, preparing, storing and serving food
- Cleans equipment; maintains cleanliness of work area
- Serves as cashier; enters cash and check deposits from meal purchases into the system; calculates total payments received during shift and reconciles with total sales
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must be serv safe certified or willing to be within 60 days upon hiring
- Full-time experience in food preparation and quantity cooking in a full-service restaurant or institutional kitchen
- Experience in a commercial food operation (short order, full-service restaurant or institutional)
- One (1) year of work experience in preparing, cooking and serving food in a food service operation
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices in a culinary environment
- Strong written and verbal communication and proficient computer skills
