    Description

    Tri-Pac, Inc. is on the lookout for an experienced Formulation Chemist specialized in Personal Care (Hair Care/ Skin Care) to join their team in South Bend, Indiana.

    Primary Functions

    • Develop and prepare personal care and/or skin care products
    • Development of aerosol and liquid formulations
    • Understand customer needs and restrictions to create tailored formulas
    • Prepare Specifications for all products developed
    • Maintain detailed laboratory notebook
    • Handle 10-15 projects per week
    • Monitor batch shelf-life stability and validate lab equipment
    • Conduct and track performance and stability tests
    • Stay updated on industry and consumer trends
    • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements
    • Perform other necessary duties as assigned
    • Physical requirements include sitting, listening, speaking, typing, and moving throughout the facility

    Requirements

    • 2-5 years of lab/formulation experience
    • Aerosol and propellants knowledge
    • Proficiency in Access, Excel, Word, Projects
    • Attention to detail and strong organization and multi-tasking abilities
    • Technical knowledge of chemicals and their functionality
    • Experience with lab equipment such as Brookfield viscometers, pH meters, mixers, and hotplates
    • Understanding processing procedures, fill weights, and formula cost implications
    • Knowledge of OTC guidelines/monographs and global formulation skills
    • Strong computer skills and ability to use general office equipment
    • Must be self-motivated, customer-focused, and quality-driven
