Position Purpose:
The Staff Accountant is accountable for handling financial institution accounting records following established procedures and methods. Responsible for producing monthly and quarterly reports, aiding in financial statement preparation, and supporting in regulatory reporting. Demonstrates Civista Bank's commitment to enhancing the financial well-being of employees and shareholders to make a positive impact on the communities it serves.

Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable System daily, offering assistance to all end users.
- Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliation of general ledger and internal accounts for precise financial records.
- Prepare, analyze, and compile financial records for regulatory reporting purposes.
- Offer guidance to colleagues on financial accounting procedures.
- Provide research and internal project assistance to the Assistant Controller.
- Conduct reconciliation of designated accounts and other financial reports as assigned.
- Assist in preparing various regulatory reports for the holding company and its subsidiaries.
- Fulfill any other assigned duties and tasks that align with the key responsibilities.

Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Two to four years of experience managing general ledger entries and generating financial reports, preferably within a financial institution setting.
- Ideal candidate holds an Associates Degree in Accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with accurate data entry abilities.
- Capable of becoming adept in specific software essential for the role.
- Demonstrates high initiative, independent judgment, thoroughness, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with solid analytical capabilities.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Skilled in handling multiple priorities and projects with various deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
- Involves eye strain from prolonged work with computer screens, reading reports, and handling spreadsheets.
- Requires the ability to focus in distracting work environments.
- Involves lifting and moving loan files weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Requires effective in-person and telephone communication, as well as reading, writing, and listening capabilities.
- Ability to work with numbers, type, and sit for extended periods.
- Occasional travel necessary for meetings and training sessions.
