    Description

    Passenger Rail Mechanic Apprentice

    An overnight position working as a Qualified Person (QP) maintaining and repairing passenger rail cars and locomotives under supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs air brake inspection of passenger cars, private cars, and has knowledge of air brake systems
    • Troubleshoots passenger cars including but not limited to toilet systems, air conditioning systems, doors, panels, lights electrical systems and brake systems along with making any necessary repairs
    • Fills out regulatory client Company-required paperwork
    • Necessary electrical tests removes disassembles replaces repairs modifies rebuilds assembles adjusts maintains batteries all electrical equipment components on locomotives/li>Communicates written verbal findings of inspections to Supervisor/li>Able work overtime weekends holidays on-call is required/li>Flexible schedule accommodate dynamic train schedules(li)Wears uses protective equipment while working-li>Takes responsibility own safety job/li>Other related duties assigned

    Hiring range for candidates in California $25-$28.
