- Reviews internal incident reports for claim reporting and handling purposes.
- Reports store-level insurance claims to relevant carriers for owned and managed stores within claim thresholds.
- Guide store teammates in filing store-level claims within their claims threshold.
- Manages within the claims function with the retrieval of incident reports to be sent to the tenant insurance carriers, relationship managers (3PM team) and other internal stakeholders.
- Communicates with stores when required for additional information related to incident reports and claims filings.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders along life of claim.
- Manage the subrogation of facility damage claims and auto/truck damage claims with at-fault partys insurance carrier(s)..
- Create claim notes, attach emails and keeping organized files for each claim in corporate RMIS system.
- Save claim documentation into relevant shared files.
- Maintain and actively monitor claims diary via corporate RMIS system.
- Strategize to develop plan to drive claims to resolution.
- Works with Accounting on classification of capitalized expenses and reconciliation of store level insurance claims against insurance proceeds received.
- Manages auto and truck claims to resolution for corporate fleet of vehicles and trucks.
- Assist with drafting of demand letters related to incidents at the store-level.
- Coordinate claims release forms and demand letters, as necessary.
- Assist risk manager with corporate claims, when necessary.
- Coordinates claim file uploads into Company Risk Management Information System with relevant carriers and broker.
- Assists the Risk Manager in extrapolating loss data from RMIS system for a Risk Management Dashboard to include Divisional loss performance and the forecasting of trends.
- Bachelors Degree
- 3 years of experience in claims processing, insurance, corporate legal, auto insurance filings or subrogation preferred.
- Insurance Designation such as ARM, Associate in Risk Management
- Computer skills and proficiency with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and EPIC
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail orientated with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be flexible and have the ability to adjust to priorities.
