    Position: Project Engineer/Project Manager

    Location: Alpharetta, GA Onsite)

    Duration: 18 months, Likely to extend

    Job Description:

    Summary:

    • The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
    • Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients.
    • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
    • Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
    • Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
    • Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.

    Skills:

    • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
    • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
    • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
    • Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
    • PMI or PMP certification preferred.
    • 5-7 years experience required.

    Position's Contributions to Work Group:

    • Custom Swgr Project Management Support

    Typical task breakdown:

    • Successful execution of custom switchgear projects and/or accounts from Order Entry through Project Closeout.
    • This position works with cross-functional multi-project team resources to ensure expectations are delivered according to defined scope, timeline, documentation, and cost parameters.

    Interaction with team:

    • Needs to be able to work well within team structure.
    • Needs to have very good communication skills, both verbally and technically, via email and other electronic communications means.

    Work environment:

    • Office work environment
    • Shop floor - has required PPE gear

    Education & Experience Required:

    • The position requires Experience in dealing with multiple disciplines such as contractors, consultants, engineering, sales, purchasing, and commissioning agents in regards to power generation and or electrical design products.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional technical teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer service.
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation and negotiation.
    • Strong verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated experience directing internal and client teams involved in multiple activities.
    • Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure project execution activities.
    • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365.
    • The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience.
    • In addition, 5+ five years of job-related experience are typically required.

    • Able to multi-task a variety of projects and activities during a full day. Needs to be very pleasant and easy to work with among groups.
