    Program Manager - Commercial Vehicle Driving Training

    JOB SUMMARY:


    Under general direction, the Program Manager - Commercial Vehicle Driving Training trains commercial drivers for the Pre-trip, including skills and road training that are not just sitting in the passenger seat for hours on end.

    Creates and evaluates curriculum that specifically targets the intended results of the program. Assesses and designs solutions for programs and clients.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
    Deliver engaging training sessions (20%)
    Operate vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle (5%)
    Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair (5%)
    Prepare classroom and range for class activities (15%)
    Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, and job aids (20%)
    Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date (5%)
    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs (5%)
    Provide feedback and coaching to students to enhance their performance(5%)
    Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development (5%)
    Manage the activities of the part-time CDL trainers (10%)
    Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    Associate of Science Degree or Industry Certification(s) in discipline(s) and/or eight (8) years' experience in the industry.
    Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
    Minimum four (4) years with a class A and a DOT physical
    Must have a valid and current CDL license
    Knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts an how to apply them to solutions
    Proven experience as a Training Manager or similar role

    Knowledge of curriculum design processes and how to evaluate the results of a program to goals set for the project.

    Skilled in facilitation, presentation training, and coaching.
    Familiarity with DOT CDL Class A and B standards
    Ability to write clear and concise reports
    Must be 25 years of age.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


    This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally more than fifty (50) pounds.

    It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.

    IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
