    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Title: Sales Representative

    Department: Sales and Marketing

    Reports To: Director of Sales and P.M.

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Summary

    Sales Representatives are responsible for enhancing sales through developing and nurturing relationships with customers and clients. Responsibilities involve identifying potential customers, following up on sales leads, and maintaining relationships with current customers. Outside Sales Representatives might also propose marketing strategies tailored to specific target markets, prepare quotes based on customer requirements, and ensure seamless processes from sales to product shipment.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Identify and initiate contact with potential customers.
    • Develop and sustain relationships with current customers.
    • Participate in industry trade shows to discover sales leads and engage with existing customers.
    • Focus sales efforts by analyzing current and potential customer volume.
    • Stay updated on industry trends to identify new sales opportunities.
    • Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, and marketing strategies.
    • Recommend targeted marketing strategies for specific regions or demographics.
    • Suggest improvements in products, services, and policies based on evaluations and competitive developments.
    • Resolve customer issues by investigating problems, devising solutions, and providing recommendations to management.
    • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
    • Collaborate with the team to achieve common objectives.
    • Assess customer needs and requests.
    • Deliver company information to groups effectively.
    • Customize sales presentations according to sales outlets or trade factors.
    • Provide customers with relevant product or feature recommendations.
    • Interact with customers to clarify product definitions and resolve discrepancies.
    • Review customer agreements, recommend changes, and negotiate to settle differences, if necessary.
    • Consult with Operations Manager and Engineering to resolve inquiries or misunderstandings.
    • Interpret drawings and cooperate with Engineering to introduce new products to the market.
    • Perform other assigned duties.
