Job DescriptionSalary: $95,000 - $148,033

PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. has a proud and lengthy history of delivering innovative, challenging, and complex projects. PGH Wong was established in 1985 on its extraordinary foundation in systems engineering and is now a full-service engineering, architecture, construction management, and program/project management consulting firm for public and private entities across the nation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Design Reviews:
- Review plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, constructability reviews, and contract closeout records.
- Assist in detecting and resolving disputes and/or problems.
- Assist with review of Contractor Schedule.
Field Inspections:
- Review Provide photographic records.
- Be able to read and understand architectural, structural, and civil drawings
- Be able to redline drawings and pictures using adobe acrobat
- Track completed work, and assist in reviewing contractor's progress payments
- Provide field support services for submittals, RFIs, and requests for contract change orders.
- Notify the resident engineer of any observed non-conformances and assist in the issuance of non-conformance reports as required.
- Participate in and/or conduct planning, preconstruction, coordination, progress, scheduling, and field staff meetings.
- Respond to complaints from the public.
- Ensure that all required tests, operations, measurements, and inspections are scheduled, and ordered, and staff working on progress payments by verifying and preparing quantity and progress estimates.
- Maintain records on unit price quantities, labor, equipment, and progress for change order work.
- Review change orders for implementation.
- Make field measurements and maintain as-built drawing records.
- Conduct and/or witness testing of contract material, equipment, and installations.
- Report safety and traffic hazards, defective work, and debris to the contractor for correction.

Qualifications and Experience:

Five years of verifiable full-time experience in construction inspection work and design work, including two years of experience as a construction inspector working in an urban environment.
Familiarity with transit industry standards, practices, and regulations is helpful.
Knowledge of P25 radio systems is a plus.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be proficient in the use of Excel and MSWord.
Ability to work in a cooperative team environment.
