    Staff Accountant

    Job Overview: The primary role of the Staff Accountant is to assist the CFO in managing day-to-day accounting requirements.

    Reports To: CFO

    Work Schedule: The Staff Accountant is expected to be present during the Center's operating hours. Flex scheduling may be an option.

    Employee Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt-40 hours per week

    Salary Range: $20-$24 per hour, based on experience

    Qualifications: The Staff Accountant must have general accounting knowledge and be proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, Excel and Word

    Essential Responsibilities: The primary duties of the position include:

    • Accounts receivable: Process deposits and invoice clients
    • Accounts payable: Process payments to vendors
    • Enter all transactions into QuickBooks, tracking income and expenses by program
    • Reconciliations: bank accounts, credit card accounts, accounting and donor software, accounting and insurance billing software
    • Maintain financial files to GAAP standards
    • Create and utilize financial reports
    • Track grant expenses and assist in grant reporting
    • Maintain confidentiality of all matters related to the Finance Office.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with fellow employees, parents, children, visitors, and volunteers
    • Communicate and collaborate with staff, parents, and any other stakeholders as necessary.
    • Uphold all SGH Values and follow the Center's policies and procedures
    • Comply with all necessary standards and regulations (HIPAA, Child Care Licensure, BACB, etc.)
    • Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or questions
    • Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
