- Performing manual and mechanical decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of products, instruments, and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with sterilization and decontamination procedures related to Infection Control and safety standards
- Participating in the inspection and monitoring of instrumentation/equipment and assisting in preventative maintenance
- Maintaining surgical instrumentation and endoscopes, notifying the Lead Technician/Manager of any necessary repairs
- Assisting in managing departmental supplies and assembling instrument trays/equipment sets accurately
- Communicating with supervisory personnel to ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment for surgical cases
- Ordering and replenishing essential supply stock as required
- Updating Surgeon's preference cards and monitoring supply PAR levels
- Expertise in decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of selecting appropriate disinfectants, detergents, sterilization methods, and decontamination devices
- Ability to inspect, assemble, and package instrument and equipment trays accurately
- Experience in loading and unloading sterilizers to ensure proper sterilization conditions
