Education and Experience Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.
A typical way to obtain this would be:
Four years' experience supervising skilled craft workers engaged in maintenance and repair of buildings. Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible leadership related to facilities management.
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
Summary Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Facilities and Maintenance, the supervisor position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of maintenance.
This includes collaboration with site and district staff to manage the various maintenance and facilities projects regularly conducted across the district's facilities.
This position assists with long term and strategic planning across the Maintenance and facilities department and assists with budget preparations and performs other duties as assigned.
Distinguishing Career Features This is a management-level position with responsibility for the maintenance and repair work performed by personnel on district facilities.
The supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures relating to maintenance planning and the trades.
The position oversees the evaluating, scheduling, and planning of maintenance requests with minimal disruption to the school site and student activities.
The position identifies and plans for long term preventative maintenance to avoid the need to respond reactively to emergency maintenance requests.
Requires ability to train employees on proper and safe procedures, modify or adapt systems in order to meet ongoing procedural and technological change.
