+ this position floats between hicu bhu and burk 2 ltc vent unit providing care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent interventions patients in these units are stable but critically ill and can change in condition rapidly
responsibilities
- provide care for patients on ventilator support with chronic and complex respiratory problems
- monitor patients requiring icu step down telemetry medical surgical level of care
- engage patients in group activities one-on-one exercises manage medication administration blood transfusions non-titratable drip medications utilize specialty equipment devices such as gtubes picc lines chest tubes implement patient care plans modify as necessary based on patient assessments
