    Help Desk Technician Position at KACE in El Paso, TX

    The Help Desk Technician role is a key position within our company. As the first point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance, you'll play a crucial part in providing support and guidance to solve technical issues. Here's what the position entails:

    • Provide Tier 1 technical support for end user requests via phone and email
    • Offer remote and desk-side assistance for software/hardware troubleshooting, upgrades, and installations
    • Follow SOPs to resolve trouble tickets and perform system administration tasks
    • Update SOPs and knowledgebase entries when needed
    • Collaborate with System Administrators and Engineers to address reported issues
    • Conduct IT orientation for new staff and manage user accounts/mailboxes
    • Handle IT inventory tracking, equipment shipping/receiving, and other assigned duties

    Requirements for the role include:

    • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred
    • CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft MCP certifications preferred
    • 1-2 years of technical/helpdesk experience required
    • Proficiency in software, hardware, network, and computer user support
    • Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, network cabling, wireless, and remote access
    • Strong skills in MS Windows OS, Office Suite, and antivirus software
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
