- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program by ACOTE
- Current Texas Occupational Therapy license by TBOTE
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification
- Experience working with school-aged children (preferred)
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEPs, and school-based service delivery
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Evaluate scholars to identify occupational therapy needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and activities of daily living
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned to IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services in individual, small-group, and classroom settings
- Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute data-driven recommendations
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with IDEA, TEA, and district requirements
- Support teachers and staff with strategies, accommodations, and environmental modifications
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for carryover
- Adhere to professional ethics, state licensure requirements, and school policies

- Collaboration - OTs work in partnership with others to meet students' needs.
- Leadership - OTs provide direction in defining their roles and responsibilities and in ensuring delivery of appropriate services to students.
- Administer, score and interpret appropriate evaluation instruments based on district guidelines and the specific needs of the students.
- Determine eligibility of students for OT services. Develop Full Individual Evaluations Reports and IEPs.
- Observe federal and state time lines for evaluations and written evaluation reports.
- Schedule, invite required participants, conduct and participate in ARD / IEP meetings.
- Advocate for students including, but not limited to, requesting additional testing or instructional interventions when indicated.
- Develop and implement appropriate therapy goals and objectives.
- Conduct conferences with parents, students and teachers when needed to discuss concerns regarding the student's program.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop therapy schedules and provide ongoing support for students in the classroom.

- Articulate support of the district's special education program. Serve on campus committees as requested and appropriate.
- Keep informed of current issues in evaluation and treatment of occupational therapy.
- Take the initiative to develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment.

- Attend scheduled Special Education meetings and in-services.
- Develop and implement in service / training programs for teachers and other district personnel as needed.
- Consult with personnel from outside agencies as appropriate, obtaining consent as needed.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings to examine program effectiveness and develop appropriate instructional strategies.

The occupational therapist (OT) performs evaluations and therapeutic interventions in the areas of occupational therapy in accordance with IDEA 2004, the Texas
Administrative Code, and local district policies. The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports scholars with identified needs by providing high-quality, student-centered
occupational therapy services. The OT works collaboratively with teachers, families, and campus teams to promote students' functional independence, access to learning, and
participation in school activities.
