    Job Details


    Performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under minimal supervision as requested by a physician to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients.

    Utilizes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician.
    Follows physician instructions, prepares and operates equipment, positions patients correctly, and records diagnostic images.
    Performs duties including patient transport, preparation, administering contrast, assisting during procedures, data entry, infection control, and equipment operation.
    Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population served.
    Must be proficient in 3D software and post-processing reconstructions for MRI and CT exams.
    Monitors patient condition pre and post-procedure and reports changes to appropriate medical staff.
    Assists physicians with complex procedures and maintains department supplies and equipment.
    Job Requirements


    Must perform at least two imaging modalities including CT and MRI covering areas such as cardiac, neuro, abdominal, chest, spine, and extremities.

    Must be competent in venipuncture and starting IVs for procedures as ordered.
    Ability to administer contrast media and flush lines with normal saline per protocol.
    Knowledge of patient safety screening for MRI and CT procedures, including compatibility of implanted devices and pregnancy policies.
    Ability to operate power injector for contrast studies and document contrast usage.
    Must be able to perform emergency medical treatment under physician direction.
    Proficiency in data entry systems such as ITS, Meditech, PACS, EMAR, and Pyxis.
    Additional Details


    Must be able to transport patients by stretcher, bed, wheelchair, or walking and provide care during transportation and within the department.

    Assists patients with mobility and provides necessary patient care items such as bedpans and urinals.
    Practices infection control including disinfection and hand-washing before and after each patient.
    Accurately charges all procedures, supplies, and non-billable items by the end of the work shift.
    Reports equipment malfunctions and assists with special assignments.
    Knows procedures for patient release and emergency power shutdown and quench buttons on MRI equipment.
