Job Description
Fire Protection & Life Safety Engineer - - Lenexa, KS

Our Fire Protection & Life Safety engineers work within an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, project managers, and construction managers on variety of project types primarily within the life sciences, mission critical, and industrial markets.

Responsibilities:
Depending on experience, lead or assist in code consulting, planning, design, and commissioning of fire suppression systems, fire detection & alarm systems, life safety systems, and hazardous material storage and use.
Prepare and review specifications.
Perform hydraulic calculations.
Review shop drawings and calculations.
Conduct peer review of other firm
Track schedules and check in with project managers for assigned projects to balance several projects simultaneously.
Attend project meetings and coordinate with team members of other engineering disciplines.
Visit job sites to verify existing conditions, observe construction progress, witness acceptance testing, and conduct third-party permitting inspections - approximately 5% to 10% of the time depending on current projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor
PE license is preferred but not required. Expectation is that hire will pursue PE upon obtaining necessary work experience.
Working experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Capacity to deal with frequent schedule changes, delays, and or/unexpected events.
Excellent and professional written and verbal communication; excellent reading comprehension and as detail oriented as possible.
