SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for transportation of inventory between facilities, shipment of inventory from warehouses, and transport product/equipment between offsite warehouses.
Understand and implement all safety rules and policies regarding the use of powered industrial trucks, handling heavy equipment or material, and general warehouse safety
Inspect truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor
Process, setup and ship products from outside warehouses as well as the plant
Ensure product integrity is maintained at a high level
Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained
Provide assistance in absence of Traffic Coordinator
Maintain warehouse housekeeping standards
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required; previous warehouse experience preferred
Valid driver's license, good driving record and current Class A CDL license (or ability to complete requirements for CDL) is required
1-2 years OTR driving experience (tractor-trailer) is required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Computer proficiency, specifically Lotus Notes, Excel, and JDEdwards
Powered industrial truck operating experience, particularly fork lift
Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
