    Description

    POSITION PURPOSE:


    Provide OB/GYN patient care, including labor and delivery and surgical services, in hospitals and CHI Outpatient facilities, with the knowledge and skill expected in the professional medical community.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:
    Medical School, (Internship), and Residency


    Licensure / Certification:
    Florida Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certification. CPR Certification.


    Skills / Ability:
    Examination, LAB and Radiological Evaluation, Diagnosis, Consultation, Surgery, Delivery, Therapeutics.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A EXEMPT POSITION)

    Delivery of Obstetrical patients.

    Provision of pre-natal and GYN care on consultation basis in Specialty Unit.

    Participation in the On-Call rotation system to provide delivery services at Homestead, and Jackson So. Community Hospital.

    Provision of emergency screening and stabilization of acute patients.

    Provision of back up for other physicians.

    Attendance at in-service and administrative meetings pertinent to the job.

    Completion of charts according to CHI policies.


    Compliance with guidelines for provider productivity as established for CHCs in performance measures (4,200 to 6,000 encounters per FTE Physician, per year).

    In-service for other medical staff.

    Participation in peer review.

    Participation in functions of the Health Professional Staff (HPS).

    Provision of patient services beyond the "visit" by following up on tests.

    Timely signing of reports for filing.

    Timely completion of Administrative forms (insurance, etc....).

    Supervision of Physicians, CNM, ARNP, PA, or other mid-level practitioners as required.

    Record review and shadowing of practitioners to ensure quality, safe care

    Data review with OB/GYN staff including productivity, waiting time, now who, quality indicators, pending tasks, missing charges, etc. and accountability for non-compliance

    Complete performance evaluations

    Timely conflict and issue resolution

    Oversight of departmental peer review

    OB/GYN Provider on-boarding and on-going training

    OB/GYN Provider education and training and reduction in practice variation.

    Oversight and leadership in achieving OB/GYN UDS, HEDIS and ACO Goals.

    Lead OB/GYN Provider meetings.

    Oversight and leadership of Clinical Intervention Programs in OB/GYN.

    OB/GYN Provider scheduling and PTO management.

    Participate in OB/GYN Provider recruitment and retention

    Signatory to OB/GYN Provider Credentialing and Privileging documents.

    Oversight of OB/GYN Provider operations.

    Immediate supervisor of OB/GYN Providers; OB/GYN Nurse Manager, OB/GYN Resident.

    Supervisory activities:
    Rounding on direct reports; Shadowing.

    Provide aggregate feedback to OB/GYN Providers on peer review results.

    Reviews records of OB/GYN care malpractice cases and shares lessons learned.

    Advocacy and representation of CHI at community affairs and meetings

    Promote wellness activities in practitioners

    Participate in training of OB/GYN Residents.

    Ensure attendings participate in required educational activities

    Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours for advising, consultation, etc.

    Attend required educational programs for development of clinical directors.

    Completion of Charts according to CHI policies.

    Must attend at least four (4) Grand Rounds each year.

    Provide Quality Care to patients.

    Score high on Patient Satisfaction survey.

    Participates in organizational activities (i.e. Health Fairs).

    Maintains 100% productivity monthly.

    Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.

    Completes B&E (billing & encounter) forms within the same day of intervention.

    Provide accurate & timely documentation in patient charts within the same day of intervention.

    Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.

    Performs other duties as assigned.
