    The Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center has an exciting opportunity for a Cook Coordinator to join our team As the Cook Coordinator you will be responsible for preparing hot and cold food for regular and modified diets for hospital patients, employees, and visitors.


    Responsibilities may include:

    • Prepare all regular and modified diet food items so that meals are nutritious, attractive, tasty and safe for patient consumption, according to scheduled mealtimes.
    • Prepare and package foods for special events, including regular and modified diet food items and other nourishments as requested, to coordinate Dietetic Services with hospital goals and treatment program needs.
    • Perform required daily cleaning activities to maintain sanitation standards and safeguard the health of all persons eating our food.
    • Coordinate work with other Cooks, Bakers, Deliver Van Drivers, and Food Service Workers to accomplish each step in meal preparation services and clean up.
    • Participate as an active team member in the monitoring and evaluation of the quality of dietetic services provided.
    • Serve as lead worker in the absence of Dietetic Administrative staff to ensure smooth operation of the department and maintain proper sanitation and safety techniques.
    • Assist with other duties as assigned.

    Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center is a secure inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting.

    The population also includes individuals civilly committed for specialized care, such as competency for criminal court (Rule 20), emergency 48-hour bed holds, and co-occurring mental illness/chemical dependency.

    Located just 15 minutes north of the Twin Cities metro, this modern facility offers compassionate, person-centered care in a pleasant environment appreciated by patients and employees alike.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Current certificate in Food Safety (e.g. ServSafe Food Handler certificate or ServSafe Manager Certificate; OR the ability to obtain this certificate within the probationary period.
    • One year of experience as a cook in a large restaurant, cafeteria, school, hospital, or equivalent experience in large volume cooking and food preparation;

    Completion of a nine (9) month or longer full-time vocational/technical/associates school program in commercial cooking or commercial food preparation can substitute for six (6) months of work experience as a cook.
