    Senior Software Quality Engineer

    supporting the DevOps functions.

    Working under general supervision, provides quality oversight to development and production operation activities including, but not limited to, planning, and coordinating software deployment, implementation of various services involving on-prem and Cloud, developing and maintaining software tools, supporting and troubleshooting applications.

    You will be working on various Cloud services involving PAAS and IAAS services.

    You will also provide quality oversight to our existing operations hosted on-prem which includes managing several java applications, support middleware technologies, continuous automation, adapt Site reliability engineering (SRE) principles to operations problems and drive quality, compliance, security initiatives procedures.


    WHAT YOU'LL DO
    Has a complete understanding of the software programming, software development, database management, networking concepts, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
    Supports deployment of CI/CD pipelines and demonstrate scripting skills through Ruby, Python, Shell or other scripting languages.
    Supports release and deployment of code from Development, Test, Stage and Production environments
    Identifies and reviews pre-defined deliverables/activities as required by software quality process or equivalent project plan.
    Applies risk management principles to all activities and tasks to investigate non-conformances. Identifies areas for process improvement and provides supporting information for change, including reasons and justifications.

    Participates in the development or modification of verification/validation packages and deliverables, including, assessments (including risk assessments, e.g., FMEAs), plans, requirements, and protocols.

    Ensure compliance to relevant FDA QSR, ISO guidelines, including 21 CFR Part 11 and Abbott Corporate requirements as they relate to the development, validation and maintenance of computerized systems.

    Assists with supplier assessments and evaluations to assure products and services meet quality requirements. May evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
    Bachelors Degree Computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline. Master's degree preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    Minimum 4 years related work experience in Quality or a related field.
    Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
    Knowledgeable of FDA, Quality System Regulations (QSR), Medical Device Directive, ISO guidelines and 21 CFR Part 11.
    Project experience in software testing practices, methodologies and techniques, particularly in testing medical devices is a plus.
    Experience working on Azure Kubernetes Services, Azure DevOps and Bitbucket/Git etc.
    Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Chef, Ansible or Puppet.
    Experience in java, middleware applications operations and administration.
    Good understanding of databases such as Oracle and Postgres.
    Experience supporting development and production environments.
    Good understanding of Architecture, High Availability configurations, Load balancing, Fault tolerance, Resiliency, Disaster recovery.
    Knowledge and experience in patching, security remediations, security hardening, threat modeling and pen testing
    Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

    The ability to interact and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with customers, vendors, partners and all members of staff is required.

    Must have demonstrated personal computer skills and be able to perform complex word processing/spreadsheet tasks to perform documentation, presentation, and analysis activities.

    Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
    Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
    Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
