    Description
    The Lycée Français de New York, a world-leading independent bilingual French K-12 educational institution, recognizes student safety and student well-being as its first responsibilities. The Dean of Students for High School's primary responsibility is to foster a positive school culture and atmosphere conducive to learning, and to identify and work to resolve issues pertaining to the well-being of students during their time at school.

    The DoSHS is the leader of the High School Student & Community Life team (Vie Scolaire). The DoSHS organizes the service and supervises the activities of the Grade Coordinators in the High School. The Lycée Français de New York's DoSHS focuses on students, people, processes, and projects. The DoSHS has a central role in planning prevention programming, leading SEL instruction in the advisory program, and working on developing wellness programming, managing conflicts involving students. He/She acts by favoring dialogue and mediation from an educational perspective. As the leader of the High School student life team, he/she is ultimately responsible for tracking student attendance, punctuality and respect for the policies in the Student Handbook and the values and norms of our community.

    The DoSHS reports to the Head of High School. He/She is a member of the Secondary school leadership team as well as of the Department Coordinators team. Annual Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000

    Qualifications and Skills

    Education/Experience

    • Master's degree or equivalent
    • Three years of responsible experience in student services or comparable responsibilities

    • Strong knowledge of adolescent development and learning
    • Detail and process oriented
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Be able to communicate and work effectively in a multicultural community, in English and French.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Team-player with superior interpersonal skills
