- Provides hands-on care to patients in PACU under the direction of the RN in PACU and Pre-Op as needed
- Perform routine tasks under the supervision of the RN
- Take vital signs; temperature, pulse, respiration rate and blood pressure as needed once competency is completed and verified by RN and report all readings to the RN
- Answer patient calls for help and determine if additional help is needed
- Observe patients' physical, mental and emotional conditions. Report any abnormal changes or patterns in each patient to RN promptly
- Assist with providing patient nourishment with RN direction post-operatively
- Check patients' glucose as directed by RN once competency is completed and verified by RN
- Clean and make beds and chairs after each patient use and perform light housekeeping duties as needed. Assis with bed flow to pre-op as needed.
- Accompany patients to their cars upon discharge to ensure safe discharge is completed
- Clean and turn over patient bays after discharge, including all monitors and equipment used
- Help prepare patient "packs" for closet and beds
- Store and move supplies, including the distribution of linen to all departments, and order supplies as needed
- Restock patient supplies in each patient bay on a daily basis
- Follow proper procedures for lifting and moving patients. Assist in transport of patients and their families between departments
- Perform monthly duties such as terminal cleans for bays and for stretchers; maintain documentation in logs as appropriate
- Observe all surgical regulations while in restricted area
- Maintain effective communication with team members at all times and ask for help or clarification of task if needed
- Assist in Medical Records as needed. Clerical duties such as surgical chart preparation, final chart order, filing, copying, and scanning may be necessary
- Maintain annual health assessments and requirements of ASC
- High school or GED equivalent required
- Follows all HIPAA regulations as instructed

- Performs other duties/projects as assigned
