- Manage and supervise the service department staff, including technicians and support personnel
- Coordinate and schedule service appointments to ensure timely completion of work
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians on complex repairs and maintenance tasks
- Monitor and evaluate technician performance, providing feedback and coaching as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all service operations
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, invoices, and customer information
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement strategies to improve service department efficiency and productivity
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and advancements in vehicle maintenance and repair techniques
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is a plus
- Proven experience as a Service Manager or similar role in the automotive industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with a variety of equipment repair, including shocks struts, forklifts, air brakes, farm machinery, and industrial equipment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and address their concerns
- Proficient computer skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
