    Description

    Mazak Corporation is looking for a Laser Weld Supervisor to join their Fabrication Department on first shift. The Weld Cell Supervisor coordinates and supervises the successful integration and output of the laser weld cells in the Fabrication department. This position reports to our production facility located at our North American Headquarters in Florence, KY.

    Scope and Responsibilities:

    Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

    Develop processes for efficient production of quality sheet metal components.

    Proactively address employee relations issues through a supportive environment including coaching and on-going team-member development

    Consistently address good safety practices with team members and take immediate action should there be any safety violations committed.

    Lead assigned area in continuous improvement, while accepting full ownership for area responsibility

    Lead team to accomplish short- and long-term goals based on department needs.

    Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

    Ensure that direct and indirect labor goals are met daily through compliance of working to the required manpower numbers.

    Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

    Train employees.

    Complete employee performance reviews in a timely manner.

    Coordinate and perform Weld tests.

    Education/Certification:

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Vocational school is preferred.

    Fanuc training is required

    Skills:

    Minimum 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

    Must demonstrate expert knowledge in Laser Welding

    Experience with complex blueprint reading

    Experience programming/operating automated equipment or machinery (industrial robots, CNC's, etc.)

    Strong understanding of coordinate systems and spatial geometry in CNC or robotic applications

    Experience with metrology equipment

    Troubleshooting aptitude, attention to detail, and safety consciousness is a must.

    Strong people skills with the proven ability to motivate others.

    Project management skills required.
