    Job Description:


    The Department of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, seeks an up to full time faculty for a Neurologist specializing in Neuromuscular/EMG, at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor.


    This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.


    The successful candidate will be a BC/BE Neurologist with sub-specialty training in Neuromuscular Disorders/EMG who will join other Neuromuscular-trained colleagues in providing services for a growing Neuromuscular Division.

    There will also be shared responsibility with other faculty members for inpatient work and calls.

    Opportunities are also available to engage in scholarly activity leading to academic promotion.

    The Department of Neurology of the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is among the largest providers of neurologic care in North Florida and provides professional services to the Neuroscience Institute at UF Health Jacksonville.

    Our faculty are nationally renowned experts in their fields of expertise who deliver world-class subspecialty neurologic care.


    Our department boasts of a Neurointensive Care Unit, a DNV Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Center certified by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, An ALS Association Certified Center of Excellence, a Level 4 NAEC-Certified Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, and an AASM-Accredited Sleep Lab.


    Our department is responsible for the neurology education of third- and fourth-year medical students from the University of Florida and other medical schools.

    We also offer an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program as well as a vascular neurology fellowship program.

    We are also involved in cutting-edge research as well as participate in multiple pharmaceutical and biotechnology-related clinical trials.

    About the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville


    The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is the largest of the three colleges at the Health Science Center Jacksonville.

    The college is affiliated with UF Health in Jacksonville, a health system comprised of two hospitals - the 603-bed UF Health Jacksonville and 92-bed UF Health North - and more than 60 primary and specialty care practices throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.


    The college's 16 clinical science departments house more than 440 faculty members, 1,560 staff and 384 residents and fellows, as well as medical students from UF and around the country.

    We offer an incredible breadth of clinical training program sand proud to train many of best primary care providers and specialists throughout the region, the state and the country.

    The college offers 38 accredited graduate medical education programs and 14 non-standard programs. More than 100 residents and fellows from programs across the U.S. come to UF College of Medicine - Jacksonville to participate in various clinical rotations as well.


    In addition to graduate medical education, clinical rotations in all the major disciplines are provided for students from the UF College of Medicine in Gainesville.

    Third-year medical students enrolled at UF spend about 25 percent of their training at the Jacksonville campus, gaining valuable experience in an urban setting.

    While third-year rotations are only offered to UF students, elective rotations in the final year of clinical training are available to students from accredited schools in the US and Canada.


    For practicing physicians, the college offers a continuing medical education program that recruits national and international speakers who are well known and respected in their fields.

    The college's faculty, residents and fellows are active in clinical research. Residents and fellows regularly present their findings at locations across the country and publish their projects in well-known publications. In 2019, the campus received $23.1 million in external research funding, approximately 50% of which was federally sponsored projects.

    The campus houses a 16,000-square-foot clinical and translational research facility.

    To support faculty and resident research, the college has a Center for Data Solutions, offering researchers analytics, epidemiology and biostatistics support, and a Center for Research Training, helping develop the next generation of highly collaborative clinical researchers.

    Expected Salary:
    Salary is negotiable with excellent benefit package, based on experience.


    Minimum Requirements:
    The successful candidate will be MD/DO and BC/BE in Neurology, specializing in Neuromuscular Disorders/EMG.
