    The GSB seeks a Beneficial Technology Associate Director to play a role in the newly created Business, Government, and Society (BGS) Initiative .

    This initiative is reimagining how a business school and leading university can build a vibrant society and prepare responsible leaders for the next century.

    The Beneficial Technology Associate Director will help pursue a specific focus on how to develop and use technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), as a positive force in society.

    We will form partnerships within and outside of Stanford University in our efforts to educate and inform about these issues and use those partnerships in ongoing efforts to attempt to deepen our understanding of challenges unique to these areas and seek workable solutions.

    conference planning and execution; design and implementation of new BGS-focused curricula in collaboration with the GSB Teaching & Learning Hub; implementation of AI faculty recommendations; This role will report to the Director, Business, Government, and Society Initiative, with dotted line reporting to the Faculty Directors for the BGS effort focusing on Beneficial Technology.

    This position requires regular, on-site work at the Stanford GSB campus, but a full-time on-campus presence is not required.

    Lead the planning and operations for programs or functions including but not limited to a series of interdisciplinary conferences; Evaluate programs or functions, policies and procedures within the BGS efforts at the GSB.

    Identify issues and develop alternative solutions which may include changes to programs, policies, and procedures.
    Represent Beneficial Technology within the GSB by committing resources and providing information and/or training. Represent Beneficial Technology and BGS at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.

    Manage and contribute to the development of outreach strategy that may include relationship development, communications and finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

    Assess training needs and may develop associated training.
    May direct and/or supervise staff. Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
    Demonstrated ability to establish and manage shifting priorities and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.

    Ability to work in a flexible, unstructured environment, helping to achieve priorities and establish processes for a new and growing initiative.

    Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills.
    Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills.
    Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
    Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
    Prior experience working in academic and/or directly with academic professionals.
