    Job DescriptionAs a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will assist the department in completion of a variety of CMT/CoMET projects. Your specific responsibilities are commensurate with experience and the expected learning outcomes.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Aid team in field service requests
    • Assisting lab crew with performing lab testing.
    • Collaborate with peers to review and request or provide guidance on appropriate project direction
    • Draft lab and field reports for project manager review and approval
    • Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as civil, structural, and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
    • Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager

    Qualifications

    • Education
      • Must be actively enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student working towards a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in an accredited engineering program.
      • Must possess at least a 3.0 GPA
    • Experience/Skills
      • Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in varying weather conditions across varying terrain
      • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years
      • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution
      • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office
      • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage numerous assignments simultaneously
      • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism
      • High attention to detail
      • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals and groups
      • Be solutions minded. Always find a way to be part of the solution
      • Be collaborative. Must have a positive attitude, work well with co-workers and clients
