    Clinical Supervisor- Boston, MA

    Full-time M-F

    60% (minimum) in person, 40% remote

    Function:

    Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Clinical Supervisor provides administrative and clinical oversight and supervision of the walk-in service and the addiciton recovery program, provides clinical and administrative supervision to other assigned staff, and provides direct clinical services to clients. This position also coordinates services with public health sites, supervises staff placed at these sites, is a member of the MAT team and ensures a continuum of care into behavioral health services. This position has a key role in assuring that ACO quality measures are addressed and that the services under their management keep pace with the evolving healthcare delivery system.

    Representative Duties:

    1.Provides direct services to clients

  • Provides intake / diagnostic evaluations for clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides substance use disorder assessment and enrollment for clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides short-term therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides long-term therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides couple/family therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides group therapy to BH clients, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides crisis intervention, using established therapeutic processes
  • Provides on-call / crisis service coverage as required, and according to department standards
  • Adheres to NASW Code of Ethics
  • 2.Provides Administrative and Clinical Oversight and Supervision of the BH Walk-in Service

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the Low-Barrier Behavioral Health Clinician, the lead clinician for the BH Walk-in Service
  • Provides oversight of the daily operations of the BH walk-in service
  • Provides service coverage as required
  • 3.Provides Administrative and Clinical Oversight and Supervision of the Addiction Recovery & Wellness Program

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the clinical staff, including Sr. Acupuncturist
  • Provides oversight of the daily operations of the ARWP
  • Provides collaborative leadership to foster and support the integration of the ARWP and the primary care Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programming, services and grant management
  • Leads efforts to integrate SUD services with primary care activities
  • Through the supervision of program clinicians , provides quality assurance oversight of the program services, and ensures that the program services meet the funding requirements and compliance standards in accordance with the Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) guidelines
  • Leads grant management functions, such as grant funding and license renewal applications, and by serving as a supervisory liaison between the program / BH department and BSAS, and by serving as a supervisory point person for funder site visits
  • Represents the program services to organizations, networks and stakeholders
  • 4.Provides administrative oversight and supervises staff placed at affiliated public health sites

  • Orient and supervise community-based case managers who bridge services between public health and clinical sites
  • Manages grant that funds community-based MAT case managers
  • Administratively and clinically supervise Ryan White Part A Public Health Social Worker
  • Creates and maintains effective working relationships with public health site staff
  • Ensures collaboration and assists in developing and enhancing a continuum of care for clients of public health programs
  • Facilitates low threshold team meeting
  • 5.Provides training and supervision to assigned staff following organizational policies and procedures

  • Insures that assigned staff receive a comprehensive program orientation
  • Trains assigned staff regarding the full range of their responsibilities
  • Provides ongoing guidance and supervision to assigned staff
  • Provides yearly written evaluations of assigned staff following agency evaluation guidelines
  • In collaboration with the associate director of integrated services makes employment-related decisions regarding assigned staff within the scope of defined authority and following established agency and program guidelines
  • Supports and continually improves the provision of professional, comprehensive, and effective clinical services for all BH clients
  • 6.Participates in Activities Designed to Maintain and Enhance the Quality of the Behavioral Health Department's Programs and Services

  • Participates in department management team meetings
  • Assists the associate director of integrated services with program development and practice innovation initiatives
  • Assists the associate director of integrated services in the oversight of the quality and effectiveness of the low threshold behavioral health services
  • Participates in health center quality teams when assigned
  • Acts as a liaison between the behavioral health department, the medical department, and other agency departments as needed
  • Participates in other health center initiative and committees as assigned

  • Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
  • Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality

  • Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
  • Attends all regularly scheduled research meetings, trainings, forums and pertinent staff meetings
  • Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
  • Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
  • 8.Performs other duties as related

    Requirements

  • Graduate level degree in mental health or social services field
  • Independent clinical licensure in Massachusetts
  • Additional SUD licensure or credential preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years post independent licensure experience in providing direct client care
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical and administrative supervisory experience within outpatient settings
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical and administrative supervisory experience of substance use disorder treatment programming, preferred
  • Strong interest in, or experience with providing low threshold behavioral health services
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse work staff
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multitask required.
