The Waverly Day Habilitation Program is seeking a Day Habilitation Specialist to instruct, supervise, and assist persons served in the development of social, leisure, recreational, communication, safety and other skills in accordance with their person-centered plan, and the scope of services as defined by Iowa Administrative Code. This is a 32.50 hour FT position with the potential of 40 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to persons served
• Assisting with accommodations
• Developing community activities
• Working on planned goals and objectives
• Documentation of services provided

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Meet agency criteria for driving record and background checks
• Experience working with persons with disabilities is preferred

NOTE: This position requires physical abilities that include one or more of the following (this is not a comprehensive list): pushing or pulling persons in wheelchairs, transferring persons weighing at least 100 pounds to and from wheelchairs with another staff person, lifting 25 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling motions, physical interventions.
