- Develops scripts to pull, organize, and integrate different data sources that may be accessed through different formats such as Application Programming Interface (APIs), rest, soap, http, open API, ftp and other architecture and protocols
- Creates integration and automation using python, java, JavaScript, visual basic, or other programing language to move data across systems for analysis
- Creates reports, data inquiries, data analytics for internal and external use
- Pulls, organizes, and illustrates data from multiple sources and source types that include excel, access, SQL Server, Oracle, and other sources/formats
- Utilizes database tools such as SQL Studio, Visual Studio, SSRS, and other programs to retrieve, manipulate/update, and report on data
- Performs analysis both spatial and analytical computations and create tending maps, charts, etc. for data decisions
- Creates complex logic for model building to assist in model building and sequencing structure
- Coordinates with department heads on identifying and production of measurable key performance indicators (KPI) based on data and help identify opportunities for improvement
- Coordinates efforts in data analytic needs
- Creates presentations, charts, and in some cases virtual dashboards to visualize and illustrate data graphically
- Organizes data, data structures, schemas, and related data management functions
- Assists or conducts training of staff for data collection methods and formats
- Assists in developing tools and functions, to include some computer language scripting as needed for integration and data processing efforts
- Any other duties as assigned

Education and Experience : A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, or other related field - The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment physical and drug test with random drug testing thereafter.

SUMMARY
The Data Analyst will assist the Ascension Parish Government Administration in retrieving, organizing, analyzing, and reporting on data in order to make critical decisions, identify production problems, optimize efficiencies, display/prioritize resources, and streamline logistics and processes of the Ascension Parish Government.
Pertinent data may include but is not limited to data from outside sources, surveys, databases, or other software systems.This position will be required to look at complex sets of information and develop conclusions and make recommendations necessary to workflows, software changes, or related changes to achieve measurable goals and objectives.
This position will work closely with departments and be knowledgeable of terminology used across government interactions.MAJOR DUTIES
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Full Performance Level Minimum Qualification Requirements – Data Analyst III, Labor Grade 122
( 6) years of directly related experience.
Combined Secondary
Education and Experience :
10 years combined progressively higher-level education (post high school) leading to a bachelor's degree
and
higher-level, directly related experience is fully qualifying for the 122 level.
Experience : 10 years higher-level, directly related experience is fully qualifying for the 122 level.
Developmental Level Minimum Qualification Requirements – Data Analyst II, Labor Grade 119
Education and Experience :
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the aforementioned areas of study
and
(4) years of directly related experience.
Combined Secondary
Education and Experience :
8 years combined progressively higher-level education (post high school) leading to a bachelor's or associate's degree
and
higher-level, directly related experience is fully qualifying for the 119 level.
Experience : 8 years higher-level, directly related experience is fully qualifying for the 119 level.
