    Tenured/Tenure-Track Associate or Full Professor in Biomedical Engineering


    The Wallace H. Coulter Foundation Endowed Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at FIU is seeking applications for a Tenured/Tenure-Track Associate or Full Professor to join in August 2024 or later. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related field, showcasing a proven research background in invasive electrophysiological techniques for studying brain circuits in mammals, with a preference for expertise in primates. Individuals with experience in invasive electrophysiological recording from the human brain and/or brain organoid platforms are especially encouraged to apply, fostering collaboration with the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) and the Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute (MNI).


    Applicants are expected to have a strong publication record and external funding experience, with a focus on academic research excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a high-quality research program while demonstrating commitment to outstanding teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, the candidate will be required to create and deliver courses in neural engineering.
