    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Assists the Pharmacist in providing service to all areas of the SwedishAmerican Hospital. Performs technical duties necessary to prepare and dispense medications. Assist customers in the pharmacy, collect payment and deliver outpatient medications to inpatients.

    Ensure pharmacy insurance claims are correctly adjudicated through the computer system for reimbursement by working with patients and calling insurance companies to address issues.

    Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.

    LICENSURE/


    CERTIFICATION:


    Current licensure from State of Illinois. Pharmacy Technician Certification or must obtain certification within one year of hire.

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required. Proficiency and ability to use a computer and a variety of common office equipment. Ability to effectively communicate and develop collaborative working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
