    The Children's Center of Brookline is seeking experienced educators with EEC certification or proof of a recent College-Level Course in Child Development to join our team

    This position works alongside our student teachers and interns. This position can be part time hours a week, 4 days a week) or full time hours a week, 5 days a week. While this schedule changes semester to semester as our intern and student teacher availability shifts, the number of paid hours and days per week remains the same, year-round
    Currently this position is operating on the below schedule:
    • Mondays 8am-4:30pm
    • Tuesdays 2:00pm-4:30pm
    • Wednesdays 8am-4:30pm
    • Thursdays Option to have Thursdays as a day off (part-time), or half day 8am-2pm (full-time)
    • Fridays 8am-4:30pm

    This is a team-teaching position in a cooperative work environment that values teachers, students, and prioritizes planning and prep time, creativity and connections with the students and families. Our program draws inspiration from a variety of research-based philosophies including the work of the Reggio-Emilia schools in Italy, Waldorf Education, Montessori Education, and spends the majority of our day outdoors in our well-appointed outdoor classrooms in all kinds of weather.
    Job Details:
    • The ideal candidate will join our dynamic team of educators in modeling how to create, support and implement safe, fun, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate curriculum in a nature/outdoor focused setting for children ages 1.5 years of age to age 5, as well as supporting the growth of our team of interns and student teachers.
    • The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting students with a variety of needs and has an awareness of or willingness to integrate trauma-informed teaching into their everyday interactions with students both in a group and one-on one.
    • This position does include day to day tasks that assist and support the classrooms including bathrooming, diapering, classroom maintenance, cleanliness, etc. This position also requires continuity, confidence and the ability to model best practices in the field of early childhood education to student teachers, interns, and faculty with a wide range of prior experience.
    • This is an ideal position for an experienced educator interested in making the transition from a traditional classroom teacher to mentor teacher, curriculum coach or other professional development role, or educators looking to make the transition from Elementary Education to Early Childhood Education.
    • The Children's center of Brookline adheres to the standards set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) and draws inspiration from a variety of child-centered philosophies, such as NAEYC, Waldorf, Reggio-Emilia Inspired, Montessori and Project-based pedagogies.
