    Description
    Qualifications

    Education, Training, and Experience

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, and a paralegal certificate from a paralegal training program accredited by the American Bar Association, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

    OR

    Five (5) years of work experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.

    OR


    A Paralegal Certificate obtained from a training institution accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), PLUS at least one (1) year of work experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.

    OR


    An Associate's degree from an accredited college, PLUS at least two (2) years of work experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.

    OR

    A Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university, PLUS at least one (1) year of work experience as a legal assistant or paralegal

    OR

    A Juris Doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA)

    Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:


    • Knowledge of public health practice sufficient to adhere to HIPAA standards.
    • Previous experience with creating and maintaining organizational systems.

    NOTE:

    SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
    This position requires applicants to complete an interview and a skills assessment as part of the interview.

    The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview will be selected.


    Residency Requirement:

    All employees of the City of Chicago must be actual residents of the City as outlined in of the City of Chicago Municipal Code.

    Proof of residency will be required.
